As many of you know, Alan regularly runs Learn & Plays each week at Buzzin' Meeples and he was kind enough to allow me to run my own session last week for the first time, where 5 of us played the worker-placement game, Lords of Waterdeep, inspired by the world of Dungeons & Dragons.
I had great fun teaching and playing this game and getting to meet new people and I'm hoping to run further Meet & Play's in future. I know for many studying a rule book or learning a new game can be a chore, but it's a part of the game I really enjoy and I love being able to help people try out something new!
The aim of these sessions is to provide further opportunity to learn more games, in addition to those sessions provided by Alan (which usually run Tuesday to Thursday) so I am looking at running future sessions between Fridays to Sundays. This is particularly helpful for those who want to try a longer game i.e. 5/6 hours which cannot normally be played to completion during the week.
For those who may argue that by both teaching the game AND playing gives me a distinict advantage, I refer to my first Meet & Play of Lords of Waterdeep where I came... LAST! By being at the table throughout the game, I'm able to answer any ongoing rule questions that could arise.
So... if there is a board game you've been itching to try, or even one you love and would like to play again, please consider posting below and I'll look to arrange a Meet & Play sometime in the near future.
Thanks for taking the time to read and hope to meet some of you soon!
